Roberta Lazo Valenzuela Solo (CHL) // STUDIO 1 // 20:00

Roberta Lazo Valenzuela ist eine chilenische Komponistin und bildende Künstlerin, die in Österreich lebt. Ihre Arbeit umfasst eine Vielzahl von Medien wie Musik, Sound Art, Installation, Video, Animation und Malerei. Die Themen ihrer Stücke beschäftigen sich oft mit den Feinheiten des täglichen Lebens. Sie versucht die Aufmerksamkeit auf Dinge zu richten, die in den sich wiederholenden und trivialen Tätigkeiten des Alltags verborgen sind.

Roberta Lazo Valenzuela is a Chilean composer and visual artist living in Austria. Her work encompasses a variety of media including music, sound art, installation, video, animation and painting. The themes of her pieces often deal with portraying and highlighting the intricacies of daily life, drawing attention to the things hidden in the repetitive and trivial activities of everyday life.

Kollektives komponieren

In einem Blitz-Workshop wird eine, bereits ausgearbeitete, simple grafische Notationsweise vorgestellt um in weiterer Folge dem Publikum dann jeweils ein kleines „Vokabel-Heft“ der Notationsweise, ein Blatt Papier und natürlich ein Stift zur Komposition bereit zu stellen. Jeder ist eingeladen seine eigene spontane Komposition im Anstoß der grafischen Notation zu zeichnen, die dann willkürlich an die anwesenden Musiker*innen ausgeteilt wird. Über den Abend hinweg werden demnach mehrere improvisierte Mini-Kompositionen entstehen und gespielt werden, für die sich das Publikum, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, selbst verantwortlich zeichnet.

Collective composing

In a blitz workshop, a simple, already formulated graphic notation method will be presented in order to subsequently provide the audience with a small "vocabulary book" of the notation method, a sheet of paper and, of course, a pen for composition. Everyone is invited to draw his or her own spontaneous composition using graphic notation, which will then be randomly distributed to the musicians present. Over the course of the evening, several improvised mini-compositions will be created and played, for which the audience, in the truest sense of the word, will be drawn responsible.

Experimental punk, and anti-art performance

Ausländer is a group of individuals who consider themselves stateless towards the system. Ausländer is involved in projects that take place in the underground scene and alternative venues as well as at festivals, galleries, museums, and academies. In cooperation with cultural and artistic institutions, Ausländer provides content that creates an open dialogue, allowing people’s voices and opinions from outside the institution to be heard.

Ausländer ist eine Gruppe von Personen, die sich dem System gegenüber als staatenlos betrachten. Ausländer ist an Projekten beteiligt, die in der Untergrundszene und an alternativen Veranstaltungsorten sowie auf Festivals, in Galerien, Museen und Akademien stattfinden. In Zusammenarbeit mit Kultur- und Kunstinstitutionen stellt Ausländer Inhalte bereit, die einen offenen Dialog schaffen und es ermöglichen, dass die Stimmen und Meinungen von Menschen außerhalb der Institution gehört werden.

Written Portraits by Adrian Dozetas (ARG) // HP6 Lichthof west Trans Aufzug // 20:00

A participative performance based on improvisation where, as painters do, Adrian portrays a person improvising a poem with his typewriter and the person gets the poem in paper as a present. The Written Portraits Performance was funded 2022 by the Culture Council of the City of Vienna by the Culture Council of the Neukölln District of the City of Berlin and part of the New European Bauhaus Festival organised by the EU. In 2023 it was funded by the Culture Council of the city of Linz, Austria. Bezirksamt Neukölln Fachbereich Kultur. This performance is based on improvisational poems live written and often invites artists of diverse disciplines . Live music, live painting and improvisational contemporary dance; disciplines which not only drive the moment and the words into an experience of trance and human interconnection but also tend to portray the person in its own language. Kasho Chualan (CAN) // HP8 1. OG Hörsaal // 21:00

Kasho Chualan ist eine Kurdisch-Kanadische Pianistin, Komponistin und Klangkünstlerin aus Wien. Auch als Antichrist der Klassischen Musik bezeichnet, bricht sie Grenzen auf durch Entfremdung und Improvisation mit einem träumerischen, narrativen und Textur-Basierten Ansatz. Nach einem pausierten Studium in Konzertfach Klavier, findet Sie derzeit musikalische Freiheit im ELAK an der Universität für Musik und darstellende Künste in Wien.

Kasho Chualan is a Kurdish-Canadian pianist, composer and sound artist from Vienna. Also referred to as the Antichrist of Classical Music, she breaks down boundaries through alienation and improvisation with a dreamy, narrative and texture-based approach. After a paused study in concert piano, she is currently finding musical freedom in ELAK at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
